Litigation Associate

CR Lawyers LLP is seeking a talented and motivated litigation lawyer to work in either our Campbell River or Courtenay office. We handle a wide variety of commercial, civil, family and insurance litigation. We are looking for an associate who wants to excel in their career and contribute to the community they practice in.

Education:


  • A Canadian common law degree or Certificate of Qualification, National Committee on Accreditation of the Federation of Law Societies of Canada.


  • Called to the bar in British Columbia and current member in good standing with the Law Society of British Columbia.

Experience:


  • 1+ years of legal practice
  • Strong communication, file management, writing, and client service skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong attention to detail and organization skills
  • Experience within Civil Litigation and/or Family Law
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Confidence in engaging and interacting with clients

Compensation:


$70,000 - $150,000+ total annual compensation. Compensation will be negotiated based on experience and is comprised of a base salary and bonus based on performance.

Corporate/Commercial Paralegal or Legal Assistant

Our firm is looking for a Corporate/Commercial Paralegal or Legal Assistant with 1-3 years of experience for our Campbell River office location supporting our Solicitors & Corporate/Commercial department. We encourage experienced candidates with exceptional customer service to apply for this position.


The successful candidate will be an organized, enthusiastic, hard working, team member who will have the opportunity to contribute their skills and expertise and work collaboratively with a team of dedicated and knowledgeable colleagues.


Ideal qualifications:


  • Paralegal or Legal Assistant with a Corporate/Commercial background
  • Proficiency with Microsoft 365, BC Registries & Online Services, Personal Property Registry filings and LTSA.
  • Strong communication skills with lawyers, colleagues, clients and other law firms.
  • Strong understanding of corporate structures, trusts, and partnerships.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and apply legal documentation, laws or legislation.
  • Ability to handle sensitive or private information with tact, discretion and maintain confidentiality.

    • Highly organized and able to prioritize and multi-task.

    • Must have a high level of attention to detail.

    • Critical thinking, analysis, and research skills.

    • Experience using copiers, printers, scanners and fax machines.

    • Flexible, team player that is focussed on exceptional client service.

  • High School Diploma
  • Paralegal Certificate or Legal Assistant education and/or experience





Work Hours & Benefits:


This is a full time in-person employment opportunity working Monday – Friday 8:30am-4:30pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch hour, in our Campbell River office location.

Ideal qualifications:


  •  1-3 years of legal experience.

  • Comfortable using Microsoft 365, BC Registries & Online Services, LTSA and various computer programs.
  • Experience using copiers, printers, scanners, fax machines and point of sale terminals.
  • Open to training opportunities and developing new skills.
